They are all fat in jobcentres, so they must be eating a lot.
They also stand in a jobcentre all day so what food would they need at home.

Most of the security staff at my jobcentre possess the body habitus noted by others in this thread. The exception is Mr Tight Trousers. His honed, muscular physique is straight out of the pages of an anatomy book. His uniform top is too tiny and his legs too muscular for the trousers his colleagues all wear. He is always supremely chilled so possibly not pumped full of steroids. Bad facial hair is also prevalent among the security staff. In the interests of balance, G4S are notoriously shit employers and I'm not sure if staff are allowed to choose to refuse a posting to a jobcentre.

On the subject of security staff, my jobcentre is having new CCTV installed. One camera covering each 2 desks.

The jobcentre page of thePCS union site provides updates on the G4S security guards strike.

My eyes definitely read correctly - it appears the DWP wants to reduce the numbers of security staff in jobcentres. In some parts of Suffolk they have removed them entirely.

I really must learn to do links on this damned phone, or the jobcentre will be sending me on a digital skills course.

And will the GMB union, handle this. A few months back it was everybody out on strike.

My jobcentre is small and only has a ground floor, yet it has 2 security guards. Tuesday was the first time I had to go in person to sign on in months, as they were on strike because of poor pay. They worked for a week, then went on strike for a week, and it just so happened that every time they went on strike was the week I was due to sign on.

No idea why Suffolk has decided to do away with WC protection officers. I wonder if security is something local managers have autonomy over. G4S, as the article states, just want a reduced payroll to increase their value from the contract. We shall have to see if the Suffolk way spreads.

Mr Tight Trousers has vanished, I suspect he's now on Only Fans. To be fair to him, it will pay better than G4S.

On either the GMB or PCS website were headline details of how much the DWP security contract is worth. It was in the hundreds of millions. You would think G4S wouldn't want security guards withdrawn from all jobcentres for obvious reasons. Serves them right if they cut back and then a jobcentre decides they can manage without them.

Please accept my apologies for corrupting your innocent mind. Of late, the security in my jobcentre all seem to be broody. Anyone who brings a baby or toddler to their appointment has security cooing away at the occupants of their pram/pushchair.

I'd say should be incredibly expensive to fund with it being a dangerous place to work. My place always has a police car outside when i walk by, taking in the warm glowing atmosphere.. I dont think they were recruiting in there.

They could save loads by just getting some cardboard cutouts of the 5-O to keep everyone in line.

The GMB website states the G4S muscle contract is worth about £250m, 90% of the security guards are on the minimum wage. It seems a very lucrative contract. A bonus bit was that G4S expect the staff to do unpaid training at home, which takes them below the minimum wage.
