message remains in outbox

Is it normal for a private message to remain in the Outbox after I have been notified that the message has been sent? Shouldn't the message appear in the Sentbox?

Ideally it should. The same thing has happened to me in the past.

Apart from bugs and not really looking into the infrastructure my guess is maybe there is a caching and purging issue.

A lot free hosting services can use old slow servers that hold multiple instances of the same software all sharing the same resources it is possible to save cycles due to the sheer volume of resources being used on the server that purging and caching is slower than one would normally expect.

If the message does indeed end up in the correct box after a short while then that could be the answer.

I do not think the admin can do anything about this if it were the case.

No problem, it is an explanation without doubt, however if it is the right the explanation remains to be seen.

Always worth getting in touch with the developers of the software most are grateful to be informed when bugs are found and if they are already aware of some of the issues might have workarounds temporary fixes until a patch is released.

But in the grand scheme of things sometimes the issue might not warrant the effort for the end user and this issue might be one of those occasions.

Personal messages show as sent when the recipient opens the message.  The person may not have opened the message yet.

There is also a facility within the profile page to block pms.

So its a feature and not a bug lol nearly got me duct tape and hammer out.
