The DWP has ordered jobcentre staff to return to work from Monday 17 May. PCS has received reports that work coaches have been instructed that they must do 9 face to face interviews per day for 18 to 24 year olds and 5 interviews per day for over 25 year old. There have been variations in reports to PCS but there has been a consistent message to work coaches that a massive ramp up in face to face interviews must begin from Monday

Convo with work coach on Tuesday - very disgruntled at staff having to start face to face again. Appt made for me and hubby to have face to face on 8.6.21, so definitely back on as far as I can see. I have a broken big toe again, and having to walk there and back, wear a mask, stand about waiting to be let in etc, wot fun.

P C S union members have voted 74% for action over return to face to face interviews in Job Centres.

Yesterday we were in our local job centre for the re-start of face to face interviews. None of the staff were wearing masks. We went in wearing masks and the work coach said it was ok to take them off as far as he was concerned. He was sat behind a screen but due to our not being able to hear what he was saying he had to keep shifting to side of the screen to talk around it. Rolling Eyes

Had call from job coach, they have had a lot of staff leave and are having to restructure, but next appointment will be in the job centre- yay Neutral

Ah... a lot of staff leaving, eh? That means vacancies.....or are they downsizing?
