Changed to the Univ Credit scheme Empty Changed to the Univ Credit scheme

Post by El-dudeareno Tue Oct 03, 2017 2:05 pm

I spoke to a fella at my Local JCP yesterday ,and he told me that he is being 'forced' to go on the  new Universal Credit scheme from his Work _roach, as he is on the JSA. Even thou there has been no change in his circumstances. pale

In addition to this yesterday I was asked by my work roach if I would like to 'volunteer' to be transferred onto the Universal Credit scheme! Evil or Very Mad While my JCP is being transferred to the Univ-Credit, I do read the news and see what a shambles it is clown . I was given a speech about how wonderful the U-C is. However, they forgot to mention the Monthly payments,  between 7-12 days appointments with the work roach, stricture rules for claimants, no holidays, and a 6-10 week waiting time for the first payment. But they did say there is a loan/benefit advance (see link), mind you they didnt know the repayment scale. However, in the comments on the link by Terminator, would give you an idea.

To my point does anyone know the rule regarding being transferred to the Univ Credit from JSA?

They will either take the Lump sum off the first payment or £11.10 each week for a repayment plan, that’s roughly just under £48 if they use a daily amount of £1.58 (£11.06 or £11.13 if they claim it back at £1.59 daily rate)
Those on UC will get 12 payments covering 28,30 or 31 days. Even landlords say per calander month and not a daily rate when they set the rents, even councils who charge 48 weeks with 4 free weeks account for the 4 free weeks by charging for those 28 days by making tenents pay that bit more each week or month to cover the free weeks. Say rent is £100 a wek with 4 free weeks throughout the year, then £8.34 would be for the free week the rest would be the weekly rent."

If your roach is asking you if you would like to volunteer, then it does not sound as if it is compulsory for you yet.

Do you think the fella you spoke to is being coerced?

What might trigger a transfer to UC in a digital area?

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please provide me with the guidance, ideally the step-by-step procedure, issued to and used by work coaches when transferring claimants, who are currently on Jobseeker’s Allowance, on to the Jobseeker’s Allowance element of Universal Credit.

Please provide me with copies of forms filled in by claimants and work coaches alike during this process.

Please also provide me with any screen-grabs of forms used by work coaches in this process, where no hard copies used, i.e. where data is inputted by the work coach electronically.

And please provide me with a copy of the letter (if any) given to claimants advising them they are being transferred. Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Curtis Allan

He could be Caker, but you know what some Roaches are like they seem to make the rules up as they go along Rolling Eyes . Also you never know if the JCP is giving out bonus's to work-roaches to get people to sign up to the new UC scheme? Suspect
