Univ Credit & closing down an account
I overheard someone Universal Credit claim has been closed down. Does anyone know the criteria for the JCP to close a claimant’s Univ-Credit account? As this could be a simple way to get claimant off-stream/off the books from the dwp staff . I thought it might be worth knowing this so to avoid this trap from them?

Re: Univ Credit & closing down an account
Thanks for the feedback. On the 'change of circumstance', could catch some people unawares? Especially the health ones, who do you know if your condition is over the benchmark or is a permanent change? Also does anyone know if there is a time scale for reporting these changes to the dwp, as my local council it says you have 21 x days to report any changes?
Changes can include:
• finding or finishing a job
• having a child
• moving in with your partner
• starting to care for a child
• moving to a new address
• changing your bank details
• your rent going up or down
• changes to your health condition
• becoming too ill to work or meet your work coach
• changes to your earnings (only if you’re self-employed)
