Man 65 and living on meagre savings. Too scared to claim universal credit.

The problems that occur whilst claiming universal credit appear to be never ending, once you get over one hurdle another appears and you have to climb another one.

I cannot blame him.
Claimants would live in poverty anyway but at least they will not be subject to the same level of humiliation.
The same reasons why some homeless prefer to sleep rough rather than submit to the often horrible conditions of staying in specialised hostels.
However, fighting back gives a certain self-confidence and self-respect too...

Totally agree with you, Brutus. If I could get my rent covered and poxy C tax id tell em to shove it up to their backside. This whole system is of chaos and confusion. Threats to the vulnerable. Do as we say not as we do.
