Oh dear!
Attracting foreign doctors to the UK, whilst nice for us to have them here, takes them away from the countries which invested in their training and the people who need them at 'home'.
Additionally, there is a bottle neck in our medical profession. Many well qualified UK applicants to UK medical schools are rejected simply because there are just not enough UK medical school places for all UK applicants to get one. Typically, there are 10-12 applicants to each place at a UK medical school; So typically 9-11 great students, who might have become great doctors, are not getting a chance to study medicine in the UK.
It is good that 5 new medical schools have opened in the UK. That at least gives more UK students a chance.
