'Humiliating' benefits assessments must end after disabled woman forced to ‘crawl’ up DWP stairs, says Scope
Disability campaigners have called on the Government to end “humiliating” benefit assessments after a disabled woman was forced to “crawl” up stairs to attend an appointment.
Maria Quinn, who is partially sighted and walks with the aid of a wheeled frame, described how she was left feeling “mortified and panicked” after finding there was no step-free access for her consultation at a disability benefits centre.

Some very serious mistake must have been made in order for this poor lady to have even been called into the assessment in the first place. The article mentions that she is partially sighted with mobility issues, further, it states that her sister carried her breathing equipment (I presume we are talking about something bigger than an asthma inhaler here), so she has respiratory issues too. Who in their right mind assessed her ESA50 as someone needing to be called in to a WCA in the first place
