Daily jobsearch clarified here
[quote="FlyingVisitor" post=24297]Daily jobsearch clarified here:
We consider it reasonable to expect that work search activity will take up the majority of a claimant’s time – normally 35 hours a week. Within this expectation we will take account of any work preparation activity being undertaken. We will not specify that a claimant must do work search each week day and, whilst they must meet their requirements, a claimant is free to organise what they do with their own time and managing their worksearch within this.
Our regulations allow that where a claimant has done all that could reasonably be expected of them - for example they have applied for all suitable jobs and undertaken all the activities set out in their work search and work preparation plan - this may be considered sufficient even where the time taken was less than the hours expected.

That word 'reasonably' keeps cropping up
IMHO, expectations can never be 'reasonable' unless both parties are crystal clear about what the 'expectations' actually are

Claimants will never have any hope of fair treatment while nebulous, open-ended words such as "reasonable" are allowed in the legislation. For the Jobcentre it means anything is reasonable, much the same as "actively participate" means drone-like obedience to any and all utterances from your wc. We're doomed I tell you...doooomed!

While generally agreeing with the gist of ABC comment, I would like to remind that in spite of 7 long years of IDS, sanctions, more and more restrictive legislation and obstreperous "Job coaches" we are still struggling on.
Perhaps things will become much worse, benefits will be abolished like the rest of the welfare state and freedom even more curtailed, but we should fight on.
If we have to go, let make it a fight!
True that we have seemingly not accomplished much but still we keep the flame of decency and rightfulness with us.
In a time that have turn the head of so many toward unsavoury and demeaning beliefs, like nationalism or hate for those disadvantaged, keeping a working moral compass is not mean feat.
The movement of history is on our side and even if we now suffer and struggle, even if things will go downward if we do not stop reminding ourselves that we are good people and we we'll do something about the evil abroad, then we are worth whatever life we have left.
Let's be brave and keep our heart beating.
