Thanks for posting this echidna! Just like with everything else I can't imagine this change will go very well.
And I now gotta rewrite my UJM-module for my automated job search script as well
Edit: I am wondering if this new job search website will have a check box to allow/disallow DWP access? Would be convenient if they forget that one!

Service usage metrics: Yes
Metrics types: Users of the API are able to visualise query frequency at the account level through an online interactive real-time dashboard.
Reporting types:
API access
Real-time dashboards
Will it meas that an automated service will be able to compare the claimant's CC requirement to access the service and report compliance?
In addition all CC will need to be rewritten...We really need to find out if "FaJ" will be associated with the fuzzy UC Journal requirement for privacy or if they can now legally require to use the service.

i think this one is going to get interesting
a few things though this site keeps your info and also is able to track its users
that comes under consent
the added factor in all this with the new gdpr regs its users can request to be forgotten as well

I can imagine that the work coach will get a nice little graph showing how much activity their claimant have over the last week/fortnight. If one day is very low on activity - send a doubt of to a DM!

Does the following from the Universal Jobmatch Toolkit remain in force (presumably originating in the 1995 Jobseekers Act)?:
We cannot specify to a JSA claimant how they provide us with records of their jobsearch activity and Universal Jobmatch will not change this
Will JSA 'customers' be affected differently from UC?

yes it still does exist however its down to the advisors whim who will try and prove that its in your best interests to use this website as its in your best interests to do so
for the moment we are all waiting for the site to open therefore a test can be done on it to find out what is behind the cloak and dagger of the site running

This is worrying.
I agreed as a compromise with my work coach that I would use UJM to search for jobs but would not be required to create an account. With FaJ there doesn't appear to be any way to search for jobs without creating an account!
And of course you can't create an account without agreeing to their T&Cs which I haven't seen yet but am very unlikely to agree with.

JSA is a weekly benefit, not a daily one like UC. JSA is "steps per week" and UC is "hours per week" looking for work. Don't let them fool you into thinking JSA is the same as UC, it isn't, although they will try to pull the wool.

Thanks, Absolut. Do you have a source in law for that?
Is there an age restriction for new UC applicants?

The source for the JSA 'steps' is the 1995 Act but Regulation 18 of the 1996 Regulations gives more detail.
Regulation 18(1) provides:
“… a person shall be expected to have to take more than two steps in any week unless taking one or two steps is all that is reasonable for that person to do in that week.”

Re: Universal Jobmatch to be replaced on 14 May 2018
Earlier on in the week when I signed on, I had occasion to talk to my coach about the jobmatch closure.
I live in a full UC digital area, so perhaps in other area could be different, but he confirmed that the management has told them that they will no longer have access to the new site.
That they will have to find other ways to check if the claimant is ASE and to get the claimant to a JC computer to show if an application is been properly done.
When I mentioned that this should be optional (ie they cannot force anyone to access a private site on their machine or any other for that matter) and what the recommendations for the UC journal would be, he simply did not know.
It seems that there is as much confusion amongst the JC staff as there is amongst us.
However the couch seemed certain that this would be the end of the online checks.
Let wait and see...
