I can certainly see work coaches asking why there was only 5 minutes between each activity. Or something like that.

find a job is fully sanctionable

if you was to provide dwp with direct access to your account as the account is fully trackable

log ins
what jobs you have applied for
uploaded cvs
ip addresses used
and a whole lot more

as goes for non direct access you need to use screen grab never screen print as this provides exactly the same info as allowing them access to your account

however screen grab then edit in a photo program or paint program on a pc and thats a different matter altogether as all you need to do is blacken them or whiten them so they cannot be read before you print them off via your pc

The same challenges can be applied to the new site in regards to whether it provides a better service to people seeking work.

I note MI5/MI6 chose Indeed to advertise their vacancies and use the paid for service! LoL!

Administrative Assistants
MI5 - London
£24,105 a year
Our Intelligence Officer Development Programme (IODP), Intelligence Data Analyst Development Programme (IDADP) and Technology Graduate Development Programme...

Just for info (sorry if already posted).

Never let DWP officials see your job site accounts info, do as Admin' has suggested.

We respect your right to privacy.

This privacy policy sets out and details the information that we may collect from you and how we may use this information through the Find a job service.

When you register on the service, the information you give us will be used:

About us

The Find a job website is available to UK jobseekers and employers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Jobseekers can use the website to apply for jobs and send their CV to employers who are advertising for jobs.

In this privacy policy, the Find a job website (the Service) is run by Adhunter Limited trading as Adzuna on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The DWP are the Data Controller of any personal data processed by the Service and described in this privacy policy. Adzuna provide the Service and protect the personal data acting in their role as the Data Processor.

As part of your job seeker profile you may upload CVs to send to employers when applying for jobs through the Website.

In your use of the Service, we will

store the results of your jobs searches and job applications within an activity history, so that you can review these at any time.
keep a record of when you log into and log out of the Service.

If you wish to post jobs, you will need to provide additional information, so that we can verify your status as an employer before you can advertise those jobs to job seekers.

If you contact us with a query or support request, we may also keep a record of that correspondence.

We may also collect data relating to your visits to the Website that cannot identify you but records your use of our Website including, for example, details of how long you have used the Website and the number of jobs that have been applied for and when.

We may also collect your computer’s IP address in order to help us improve the delivery of and protect the integrity of the Service.

Storage of information

All information is stored on our secure servers. When you register, we will ask you to choose a password which enables you to access your account. You are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share this password with anyone.

In addition, we (or third parties acting on our behalf) may also store or process information that we collect about you in countries inside the European Economic Area. We have put in place technical and organisational security measures to prevent the loss or unauthorised access of your personal information. However, whilst we have used our best efforts to ensure the security of your data, please be aware that we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the Internet.
Legal basis for processing your information

Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described within this privacy policy will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.

However, we will normally collect personal information from you only (i) where we have your intent to do so, (ii) where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you, or (iii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you.

If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your personal information is mandatory or not (as well as the possible consequences if you do not provide your information).

Similarly, if we collect and use your personal information in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of any third party), we will make clear to you at the relevant time what those legitimate interests are.
Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to third parties when permitted by law including:

This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection.

Data retention

We retain personal information we collect from you where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with the Service you have requested or to comply with applicable legal requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymise it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

You may close your job seeker account at any time.

If your job seeker account has not been accessed for twelve months since the last successful login, we will contact you via the registered email address and explain that if you do not successfully login again within the next 28 days, we will automatically close your account.

Closing your account deletes all the personal information held in your profile, with the exception of your account activity history. Specifically, the account activity history records when you have accessed the service and closed the account. All the account activity history will be deleted 14 months after the account was closed.

If you have contact us with a service query or support request, we will delete the records of that contact twelve months after that communication exchange is over.

Cookies

The ‘Find a job’ service puts small files (known as ‘cookies’) onto your device to collect information about how you use it. We use the information to help update and improve the service.

You’ll normally see a message on the site before we store a cookie on your computer.

Find out more about how to manage and delete cookies. You can still use this service with cookies turned off.
Measuring website usage (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics software to collect information about how you use the ‘Find a job’ service. We do this to help make sure it’s meeting the needs of its users and to help us make improvements.

Google Analytics stores information about:

the pages you visit
how long you spend on each page
how you got to the service
what you click on while you’re using the service

This information cannot be used to identify who you are.

We do not allow Google to use or share our analytics data.

Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
Name Purpose Expires
_ga This helps us count how many people visit Find a job by tracking if you’ve visited before 2 years
_gid This helps us count how many people visit Find a job by tracking if you’ve visited before 24 hours
_gat Used to manage the rate at which page view requests are made 1 minute

You can opt out of Google Analytics cookies.
Our cookie message

You may see a pop-up welcome message when you first visit the service. We’ll store a cookie so that your computer knows you’ve seen it and knows not to show it again.
Name Purpose Expires
seen_cookie_message Saves a message to let us know that you’ve seen our cookie message 1 month
Session and authentication

Our system needs a way to temporarily store your preferences. For example if you decide to change the "per page" number of jobs showing on the search results page, we need to be able to remember your preference once you visit the next page of results but also immediately forget this preference once your close your browser window / tab. We use a session cookie to do just that.

Similarly the auth cookie - that is placed after you sign-in - contains a token that tells us that you are signed in and enables us to fetch your account details / uploaded CV's / saved email alerts etc.
Name Purpose Expires
session Helps us temporarily remember your preferences such as "number of results per page" when you close your browser
auth Helps us identify you after you've signed in when you close your browser
Remembering your original action

If you choose to favourite a job ad or create an email alert while not signed in, we redirect you to our sign in page. However, once you do sign in we want to be able to redirect you back to where you were and - ideally - try and do the action you originally intended to. The uj_intention cookie helps us keep track of some of these actions.
Name Purpose Expires
uj_intention Helps us remember the action you originally intended to perform when you close your browser
Employers area

If you sign in as an employer, the employerAuth cookie contains a token that will help our system correctly identify you.
Name Purpose Expires
employerAuth Helps us identify you as an employer when you close your browser
Updates

We can update our cookies policy at any time. Check this page regularly to find out about updates. This cookies policy was last updated on 14 March 2018.

Post by Admin Mon May 14, 2018 8:22 am

on the site there was no cookie exceptance or warning on my visit that you have to except it or if you continue to use the site the cookie will be an excepted policy

there was no direction to the cookie policy either

i choose to go direct to the bottom of the page and go from there

You can search for jobs without setting up an account. But setting up an account means you can:

apply for jobs
upload CVs
keep a record of your job searches and applications
use it to discuss your work search activity if you’re claiming Universal Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance
create email alerts
save jobs to apply for later

If you already have a Universal Jobmatch account, you'll still need to set up a new account with 'Find a job'.

for your info

you can search the site without creating an account on the site
also it looks similar to the old jobsearch site before ujm

i have also done a quick few job searches and to be honest it provides you with other non specific job searches when your doing a search for your required field of job

as you will see by the pics below some of those job search criteria does not match your field of expertise and i cant see the need for them being included within your jobsearches

all foi requests so far to do with find a job site

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/new_find_a_job_website_and_sanct

Will new 'find a job' website jobs scraping site allow Jobcentre coaches to log in &see benefit claimants Activity under any situation? https://youtu.be/bf6ZBHh64Cw?t=42s (View the job searches, job ads and job applications) https://youtu.be/bf6ZBHh64Cw?t=49s
Can coaches make it a benefit requirement to print out the Activity records, for JSA or UC claimers? What sanctions exist for refusing to provide a print out of the Activity and show it to a Coach? Will a coach have the right to keep a copy of the Activity record under any situation?

Will 'find a job' include Jobs ADs based on scraping third party websites, like on the Adzuna website? If a benefit claimants refuses to use 'find a job' because they do not want to see Third Party Job ADS can they get sanction if mandated or expected to use the site by a Coach or
in a claimant commitment?

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Even when asked by you to create a 'Find a job' account and upload my CV as part of a JSA or transfer to UC claim, without a shadow of a doubt I will never accept 'Find a job' cookies on any DWP controlled device or any associated ISP at a DWP location or or other devices at a library, my home or anywhere else. I am not very happy for any JSA or UC claim to also be associated to my IP address or other online identifiers and for you to ask or expect me to share with you any 'Find a job' record of job applications I make or job search activity or saved jobs history if you
can force me to create an account, accept these cookies or upload my CV. So will you then suspend, disentitle or sanction any live in-payment JSA or transfer to UC claim I have due to not wanting to do what you may ask outlined above and why can you do this?

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

On the 14th May 2018 the Find-a-Job website, destined to replace the invasive and woeful Universal Jobmatch service, goes live and can be used by interested parties. My question is simple:

Will use of the new Find-a-Job service be voluntary or mandatory in respect to Universal Credit claimants even if such claimants do not consent voluntarily to have their activities on the website tracked on-line or have their personal data stored, manipulated, processed or used otherwise by Adzuna on behalf of the DWP?

And I'd have the perfect response to them if I was asked this. Firstly I'd ask if this is the only site I should use for searching for jobs. Secondly I'd ask if this new site can miracously record my activity on other job sites.

FaJ is a worse job search site than UJM which I didn't think was possible.

frank zolas questions has been answered

The recorded information we hold that best answers your question about the type of access DWP and Jobcentre Work Coaches will have to claimant accounts can be found in the extract below from the Find a job Delivery Implementation Guide which says:

“DWP staff will not have access to view jobseeker accounts, CVs or activity/application history.”

The recorded information we hold that best answers your other questions is contained in the instructions for work coaches who deal with Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Universal Credit (UC) claimants in Annexes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for JSA claimants and Annexes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 for UC claimants included with this reply. For ease of reference, the relevant information has been highlighted.

thankyou frank for foi info

I signed on yesterday afternoon and in relation to FaJ I asked about there being no text box for work search activity purposes. The roach was really happy about them no longer having to "look at screens" and she said they will be "going back to having conversations" about work search activity. I asked how I was to provide evidence of job search then and she waved vaguely at the signing on booklet (which I never use) saying that could be filled in. However, she did accept that a different form (excel spreadsheet) would be acceptable. I know that under JSA rules I can provide evidence in any manner I choose Very Happy. I also know that they aren't going to read through half a dozen spreadsheet pages every fortnight, so at my next signing on session I will submit a 'summary' of my activity and see what they say about it. They've never bothered to read through a fortnight's worth of UJM data, so I don't see them reading through paper-based data either Wink.

There was no mention of my having to sign up to use FaJ nor was my CC changed to remove searching UJM daily.

lol sounds like most dwp personal have no idea whats going on

DWP ‘Find a job’ is mandatory for claimants? However, “DWP staff will not have access to view jobseeker accounts, CVs or activity/application history”

The two-year contract to provide the technology behind the government’s new job-search service was worth £5.8m, newly published documents reveal.

The contract was won in March by jobs search engine Adzuna, which beat off competition from website Monster and software firm Hireserve. Adzuna’s search technology will now provide the engine for the government’s ‘Find a job’ service, which has been built to replace the Department for Work and Pension’s Universal Jobmatch website.

5.8m for that jobsite faj got to be a bloody joke

Will you sign up to FAJ if asked to?

Hi, I’m new here.

I saw my work coach yesterday and she didn’t mention FAJ. From what I’ve heard Jobcentre staff don’t seem to have been given the “party line” yet about FAJ.

I’m confused over what the DWP says about FAJ access:

“DWP staff will not have access to view jobseeker accounts, CVs or activity/application history.”

To be a an unambiguous reply it should say:

“DWP staff will not have access to view jobseeker accounts, CVs or activity/application history if DWP staff ask for it and jobseekers refuse to give it.”

Or

“DWP staff currently have no access to view jobseeker accounts, CVs or activity/application history, but if DWP staff ask for it, jobseekers must give it.”

If the FOI reply had been one of the two answers, things would be much clearer.

Maybe they want us all to be confused.

Hello and welcome osris!

Unlike UJM there is no facility within FAJ to give DWP staff unfettered access to a FAJ account. DWP staff can only see your account details if you choose to show all your activity via A DWP computer/your iphone or by providing screen prints.

Hi,

If that is the case, do you need to register with FAJ at all then? What would be the point of doing so? You could just use other job sites like Indeed etc.

Will you be sanctioned if you refuse to register with FAJ?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Good to see more people joining here.

To answer your question - if a vacancy appears on FaJ that I can't apply for in any other way before my next signing on date then it's highly likely that I will create an account in order to apply for that job. If I haven't created an account by my next signing on date and I am "asked" to do so then it will have to be via a new CC. They abandoned UJM, not us, so it's their job to reflect that in new CCs. I have no problem creating a FaJ account and uploading a CV to it. I did it with UJM and I'm not going to take a stand over a site that is far less intrusive than UJM was.
