It has also improved the search function and usability, which should increase the number of applications going through the platform, and includes mechanisms to reduce the number of duplicate and fraudulent ads.
Minister for Employment Alok Sharma said: "I want those looking for work around the country to have the very best opportunity to find work that suits their needs. Our free Universal Jobmatch service offers one of the largest job search functions out there – and with a near record number of vacancies, there are plenty to choose from.
“By joining forces with Adzuna we’ll make the platform even better for both jobseekers and employers.”
It seems to me that the it boosting the "Emperor new Clothes" propaganda from the reactionary DWP.
Their entire rhetoric is based on the concept that their brand of neoliberal drivel is working and the nation thriving.
it is essential in this contest that there are plenty jobs, seen to be advertised, than if one doesn't succeed in life is only because it must not want to work hard enough.
Hence the justification for policies of austerity and the ultimate blame for the ills in society to be laid on the feet of the undeserving "scroungers" that sap away the life of the deserving "true hardworking".
Job advertising platforms ultimately derive their reason to exist (there are myriad of them and the employment agencies that provide the ads) on their ability to invent or repackage "positions vacant". The money to finance the scam, like in this case of in the case of the slaver workfare contractors and sub-contractors, derive indirectly from the public purse.

Re: Adzuna find a job
A couple of points, does anyone know when this change of site will happen?
And will it be a new website or will they try to rehash the existing jobsearch.direct.gov.uk (UJM )? As you could see the trouble with claimant expected to use the UJM site as part of their Claimant commitment that ceases to exist...
Also what other 'trip-wires' will be installed in the new and improved site, such as dwp access?

Re: Adzuna find a job
Thanks Admin , so the JCP are going to force people either directly or indirectly to use this website and harvest their data to sell off to private company's? So we could end up with a "Facebook" & "Cambridge Analytica" situation if people are not careful.

its official UJM Universal jobmatch to close
UJ jobseeker account holders will have until 17 June 2018 to make copies of personal data they can access on UJ and UJ employer account holders have been advised they can make “local” copies (remove) of “applicant information” (personal profiles and CVs) they can currently access on UJ.

Find a Job (FaJ) service to support thousands of jobseekers into work

Re: Adzuna find a job
My guess is with a few years of experience with UJM, DWP now knows exactly what new features they need to catch all our job search mistakes. Nobody in their right mind should allow DWP access to their Find a Job account!

Re: Adzuna find a job
There some wording I don't like on the link. Who is doing the tracking and what is being stored? I feel some FOI are going to sent about this new site???
"The service will offer jobseekers and employers a simpler and more streamlined way to log in and access their information. The site will continue to allow jobseekers to search for work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through the creation of an account, they will be able to track their activity, create tailored job alerts and store multiple CVs, to ensure their applications are the best they can be when applying for roles.
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-find-a-job-service-to-support-thousands-of-jobseekers-into-work
Ps: Has anyone's work-roach mentioned this change over ,as mine hasn't said a thing?

Re: Adzuna find a job
i did find the cloud info
https://www.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk/g-cloud/services/718300940677552
it is quite able to track its users by this reference below
End-of-contract data extraction
At the end of the contract we are able to provide copies of any desired user data. This may include for example details of job adverts added or removed, or user activity logs.
so basically everything that a user does is trackable via adzuna
What users can and can't do using the API
Users can register online for the API service.
Through the API they can implement a range of queries to return specific job adverts, vacancies or salary statistics.
Not all website functionality is available through the API - for example it is not possible to modify email alerts through this method.
Details are here: https://developer.adzuna.com/overview
for those not sure of api
heres facebook and api
https://techcrunch.com/2015/04/28/facebook-api-shut-down/
the other thing it offers its original site as a test base
Description of free trial Our existing website can be freely used for an indefinite period. It includes full functionality.

Re: Adzuna find a job
When I log out of my UJM account it says:
"Universal Jobmatch will be replaced by the Find a job service on 14 May 2018".
So is the 'Find-a-job' site up and running yet? As I am confused or is it this site Adzuna, or another jobsite

Re: Adzuna find a job
no its not up and running as of yet that site is only listed via a trial basis of what it could look like due to them already running it
Re: Adzuna find a job
We will find out soon how much the website actually tracks. If a work coach starts asking why someone only spends 5 min each day on the website it will become obviously clear on how much activity they track. They can't both keep it a secret and still use it against us. Hopefully then someone could take legal actions at the new Facebook of job search!

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4753361
Adzuna are a website that advertises jobs in the motor trade and there seems to me loads of jobs advertised by them today on UJM
A lot saying London but when you click into them they are in Birmingham like this one

Re: Adzuna find a job
If I'm forced to sign up to the new Find a Job service run by Adzuna I will be making sure to create a new disposable email account that I only use for that site. Their main site is rubbish and I would never use it based on reports that they spam email accounts to hell and back, and their nasty opt-out rather than opt-in terms and conditions.
Adzuna is run by Adhunter Ltd. At June 2017 their net assets were £2.1 million. 4 directors - Douglas Malcolm Monro, Robert Dighero, Robert Matthew Klein (venture capitalist) and Andrew Charles Hunter. Number of employees - 38.

Re: Adzuna find a job
I think the all mess should be look upon as more of an opportunity than a hindrance.
The site is an agglomerator and doesn't do much checking.
this means that the guys at the Jobcentre will not be able to check either if the jobs are real, being advertised in different guises or how to trace them for a check (in the vast majority of cases).
So if they play the game of fake job ads, so we could as well.
Let fill our ASE with fake application and modified ads. Everybody's happy...
