Is there a way to see all new posts in one page?
Is it possible to see all the new posts on a single page rather than having to go through each separate section of the forum?

Re: Is there a way to see all new posts in one page?
i believe you get that choice when you first login on the site you have an option to read all the new posts
i havent used it as of yet but i know its there will try it the next time i login just to see what happens
any new posts are shown via each forum page as there highlighted in red
but i will look into seeing if we can get a page with all the new posts on it and install it if its possible
theres a link at top left of site where it quotes view posts since last visit or another link see unanswered posts since last vist wrote:

Thanks. I'd only just noticed the "view posts since last visit" link which is useful but I'd really like to be able to go back to any post in date order the way it used to be on the old UM website if at all possible.

A lot depends on forum Software used; Benefits Advice uses phpBB while the old UM used
the very popular Kunena software, all formats have there plus and minus points.
All comes down to if phpBB has the facilities ABC is enquiring about.

kunena's software isnt the most popular version otherwise more sites would offer the use of kunena or even a choice to use either, most actually use phpbb for there software
both software versions have there uses and troubles whilst installing them
its down to there code thats programmed into a page something i dont have much scope of but learning it fast however its been very interesting and great to learn a new skill
one post is set this way now just getting info on this before forum is changed to the better setting
though i thought on um the page went straight to number one if anyone posted within it for an update

Indeed G learning new skills setting up forums, or building websites, been doing it in one form or another since 2003,
for building websites forget expensive web site building software, did my own
using Pure HTML. bit of a steep learning curve but very satisfying.

I know you have answered me on this one Gadily but it is still a pain, having to go through every page to find a new (recent) topic.
As you can see from others there is a problem. Is there anyway we can help you with this?

the above reference takes you to all the new posts since you last visited the site
also theres a colour difference in red for none viewed posts on the main forum front page
as goes for emoticons i want more than whats already there or better still some different ones to use
Re: Is there a way to see all new posts in one page?
I'm still having problems seeing all posts in date order. Today I logged in and went to "view posts since last visit" to read all the posts I'd missed and then I accidentally logged out so when I logged back in all the unread posts were not showing any more. So I'm still not sure how, if it's even possible, to simply see all posts in date order, most recent date first but without having to go into each section of the forum. I just want to see all posts from all sections in date order...simples!
Is that possible as the forum is now and if not can it be implemented?

Re: Is there a way to see all new posts in one page?
as you had acidently logged out you then lost the reference to posts since you last logged into the site
however on the notifications they should be a reference to old posts that has been posted in by others should still be there
for the forums been locked to posts by date order causes problems once locked they stay there even if right at bottom of page by there date order ( people can actually post in these and sometimes people can miss these posts
some of the forum has been locked by date of original post ( jobseeker help and jobseeker letters some other points of the forums will be locked by date ) however some of the forums has not
this is to make it clear that someone needs help or has posted therefore drops the post near the top
however i will have a look to see if add another part to the forums that will still show newly posted content
