DWP outrage: cold calls with take it or leave it offer
The claims is that DWP representatives are ‘cold calling’ vulnerable people who are appealing against a decision to deny them any benefits.
In the unrecorded calls, they are then offered “take it or leave it” deals paying thousands of pounds less in benefits than they may be entitled to have by law.

Re: DWP outrage: cold calls with take it or leave it offer
My advice would be to never share any telephone number with DWP and keep it strictly printed contact only.

also best to have a recording device near if you get a call once your aware of the person
record them
get there name onto the recorder
get what they are offering onto the recorder
its all evidence then up to you if you refuse it or except it
best to refuse or as quoted get it in writing and get advice on it

Linked to this about phone calls to the DWP is a FOI:
“All recordings are retained for 14 months unless they are required to be retained for legal
purposes.”
