Migration to Universal Credit Update Empty Migration to Universal Credit Update

Just a reminder that Managed Migration is due to start later this year (November at the earliest).   Crying or Very sad

Natural migration is still ongoing.

Further information:

https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/who-is-affected-by-universal-credit

https://cpag.org.uk/welfare-rights/resources/article/uc-managed-migration-rules

There are only 251,000 JSA claimants at this time, of which 55,220 are long term unemployed (104 weeks).  This equates to circa 85 per Jobcentre.

Most of the templates/other info here will be obsolete shortly.

We receive very few JSA enquires here.

DWP gives UK roll out update - what is Universal Credit replacing?
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the pilot, which was confirmed to be underway in July last year, has only seen 13 households being moved across from the system.

DWP Universal Credit claimants to receive two weeks FREE extra cash

Minister for Welfare Delivery Will Quince said: “This one-off payment will provide additional support as claimants move from legacy benefits to Universal Credit.

"It doesn’t have to be paid back and won’t affect their UC award, so is welcome extra cash in pockets.”

Run-on payments will include other premiums that claimants have been receiving prior to moving over to Universal Credit, including Enhanced Disability Premium, carer premium or ESA work-related activity component.

Migration to Universal Credit Update Empty Re: Migration to Universal Credit Update

I was back in the JCP 🚽 yesterday. And the Roach clown, gave me the speech about being transferred to Univ Credit 🚨.....
My point is does anyone know the legislation regarding this transfer? And some of the pitfalls they have faced.

#Welfare-champ's post on 27/01/20. I wondered if much had changed?

https://cpag.org.uk/welfare-rights/resources/article/uc-managed-migration-rules

🔘"Issued a managed migration notice, informing the claimant that the benefit will stop".
🔘"No automatic claim to Univ Credit." (Need to make a new claim?)
🔘"A deadline day will be specified by which a claim for UC must be made (usually 3x months for notification).
🔘"A two week run on, for legacy benefits payments".

Any advice would be great 👍

No not much change Pintel.

Pilot Managed Migration was halted due to COVID-19.

The legislation above still applies.

Managed migration

Now the rollout is complete, existing benefits and tax credits claimants who do not have a change of circumstance (see our What changes might trigger a move to Universal Credit guide) will start to be asked to claim Universal Credit through a process known as 'managed migration'. A small number were moved in 2019 but the majority won't start to be migrated over to UC until November 2020 at the earliest. The government expects to finish moving existing benefit and tax credit claimants onto Universal Credit by September 2024.

Thanks #D.appleby 😉...  It seems to me that its just a "Change of circumstances" as detailed in the links.

For my own clarity, do know if the DWP🚽 can 'Mandate' a person already on benefits to enrol on the Universal Credit scheme. As I could see the Roach clown, pulling a fast one.confused

You can only be mandated if you are given a formal notice to migrate to UC.

A change of circumstances (natural migration) can trigger a move to UC, for example, starting work, a sanction.
