Many JC officials currently adhere to a tick list. Therefore, I can foresee the introduction of an automated analysis that determines a claimants needs based on the "claimant commitment" and a questionnaire.

Some GPs in my medical centre rely on an IT based questionnaire/profile to determine recommended treatment and potential prognosis! affraid

You could say the same about the way people shopping habits have effect the world of work Caker? Look at the Milk-man, since the introduction of dairy produce in supermarkets. And the rise of self service machines and the fall of the checkout assistant? But have the decline of these jobs been replaced with others? scratch

Around my area it seem that Ice cream sales is an all year round career, as I have seen and heard the vans chimes in mid December! santa

But I havent been brave enough to eat a ice cream in the middle of winter! Mind you I see young fella's walking around in a t-shirts when it has been snowing, must be a sign of toughness . pirat

No human jobs are going.
A little like the roles of the horses up to the 20th century introduction of reliable internal combustion engines.
Horses are here with us still, but as as “legacy occupations” , that goes too for human roles coming back.
A milkman can be back in those neighbourhoods that can afford the extra cost for a touch of nostalgia, not because they are needed.
Here in London there is a local brewery (there is a bit of a revival for micro-breweries ongoing, and a clientèle that can afford it) that has come back to cart and horses to deliver its supplies.
It doesn’t mean that horse power is back on the agenda, though…

As for the JCP, it was IDS plan to automatise claims (and rejections) by rendering everything online. He failed miserably but even with that a lot of JCP have been closed down, the trend will continue and to us it will be, in many cases, a sort of poetic justice.
However automaton is here to stay and expand. This is one of the main reasons why Universal Basic Income is such an important issue.
