Forget the ‘£25bn big business underpaid’ in tax we go after the little man
On Wednesday 25 October, The Financial Times reported [paywall] that big business potentially underpaid £25bn in UK taxes last year. And on the same day, HMRC released a report into another group of people it claims don’t pay the right tax. But these people could be your mobile hairdresser, your gardener or even your friend who sell items on eBay.

I suspect that HMRC workers are as frustrated as anyone else about big businesses getting away. They are not given sufficient powers to bring big businesses to account.
Does anyone else think that is a deliberate intention of the govt as it sucks up to big corporations?

While this is not the whole picture is actually safe to say that that the 3,765 staff currently work at the DWP investigating the possible benefit fraud of the very poor and 700 HMRC investigate the tax evasion of the very rich.
