Universal Credit debate showed how out of touch Tory MPs are
The light of scrutiny is doing nothing for the reputation of Universal Credit. Yesterday, two moments – one in front of a select committee, the other in the Commons – showed a shocking degree of ignorance among those in charge of delivering it.
First, work and pensions secretary David Gauke and Universal Credit director general Neil Couling faced a grilling in front of the work and pensions committee.

You might be right Admin, but he seem to have been stuck with the label that its his idea?
"Perhaps now is the time to repeat the experiment and ask Iain Duncan Smith, the brains behind the original idea, and David Gauke, responsible for rolling it out, to repeat the experiment and imagine they have just received their P45s and have to manage for six weeks until they get their first payment. I would be fascinated to see how they get on."
