MPs to hear evidence on ‘troubled’ universal credit roll-out

MPs will today (Wednesday, 13th September 2017) hear evidence from food banks, housing groups, and others, on how the roll-out of Universal Credit is progressing and which elements of the new benefits system still require improvement.
Universal Credit is replacing a number of existing social security benefits and tax credits with one single monthly payments.

On a sideline to this I was thinking of how much money the Univ-Credit has cost to create & implement, does anyone know . It is another one of IDS bright idea's that has become a bottomless money pit, The Work Program, The Universal Job-match Website, and now the Universal credit benefit scheme.
Has anyone been keeping tabs on how much money from the public purse has been wasted to date? Especially in a time of austerity in this country.

Whilst the DWP had estimated the administration costs for the rollout of Universal Credit to be £2.2 billion, by August 2014 this estimate was revised to £12.8 billion over its "lifetime". At that date only 7,000 claimants were receiving UC. The estimated lifetime cost has since increased to £15.8 billion.
