Blyth Job Centre closed by bailiffs!
People will still get their money.
Travel expenses should be paid to people making new claims at other offices!

Is this a sign of the times when the JCP Offices are served with a "Bailiff Possession Notice"
Also just out interest, are the DWP/JCP offices rented from a private landlord (such as Blyth?) or being part of the Home Office are they allocated from central government? If so it might be a idea to see how much the DWP spend year on rent a year, from an FOI request?
Furthermore at my local JCP, would like to see the heating bill as it is like going into a furnace. Or maybe it is me descending into the 'Circles of Hell'

The buildings were owned /managed by Trillium but looks like Trillium merged and is now Telereal Trillium.
ITV News wrote:The closure comes as a result of a legal issue involving a company called Telereal Trillium - which provides buildings for the DWP - and a 'third party landlord'.
A spokesman for Telereal Trillium said: "We are unable to comment further due to ongoing legal proceedings.”

heres some info from the pc's union
http://www.pcs.org.uk/news/embarrassment-for-dwp-bosses-as-bailiffs-move-to-repossess-reprieved-site
PCS call on Department for Work and Pensions management to halt its planned jobcentre closure plan, after another blunder for the department.
The call comes as workers arriving at Bridge House jobcentre in Blyth, near Newcastle yesterday were confronted with a bailiff's notice on the front door. The landlord of the site, contracted to Telereal Trillum as part of the DWP jobcentre network, has posted the notice to advise that bailiffs can enter and "repossess" the building.

As a matter of interest, is the furniture, part of the bailiff seizure remit?
I wander if all the computers with their DWP databases become then part of it.

I'm not very tech' savvy but I would have thought that the database would be held on some central computer off site. I am not sure what gets stored on local hard drives or even if PCs, used in offices, still have these.
I remember working in offices (last time was 2012 ) where the 'PC' was a screen, keyboard, mouse and a great big 'box'. I believe that work-stations (aka desks) just have the 3 former and not the latter now. I am sure someone else will have better knowledge of this.
