suggestions layout of the forum Empty suggestions layout of the forum

Post by Admin Mon Apr 17, 2017 5:05 am

Well done for getting the forum up and running. I wonder if I could make a few suggestions about the layout:-

I was a bit confused about 'UNIVERSAL CREDIT' and 'UNIVERSAL CREDIT INFORMATION'. I think it could be less confusing if these are just under one heading of 'UNIVERSAL CREDIT'. I don't think the word 'information' is strictly necessary, because we know that it is 'information'.

The other thing that confused me was that some things are in CAPITALS and others not. I think that main headings need to be in capitals and subs not. It makes it easier on the eye that way. It is so much easier to pick out what you are looking for.

The above are just suggestions and not criticisms.

admin mod edit:

suggestions or criticism is welcome just post below

The two feature I most missed from this layout as opposed to the "Kunena Forum" type, is the lack of:
1- Thank you (and un-thankyou) buttons
2- A favourite repository
3- Possibly a way to "grade" a post

Also the feature allowing to know when a member was last on line, while mildly intrusive, allow to know if anyone has been recently active both important in order to know if the postings can be still queried from the author and secondly because one can perhaps worry about a long absence.

there last visit is held within a persons profile

click on users profile then click onto statistics

then look at bottom of page at information

ive only removed a persons last visit from the external site view of the member list when viewing as a guest

thankyou buttons I will have to look into as I miss them myself

Hi g

I cannot see the A+/-

I cannot see any smilies, font size, bold etc etc

Is there a facility to edit/delete our posts?

I seem to have the quick reply facility only.

I would like to see the "Thinking out Aloud" folder, as sometimes I just need to get it things off my chest. And there isn't always a suitable folder/topic to place this thought in? confused

@ El-Dude

by 'subscribe' do you mean you want to receive an email every time someone replies within a topic?

OK, so now if I click on the triangle I cannot see the IP address, it just says 'unauthorised'. That is OK, I was more concerned with spies.

Cheers
