Phone appointment.
Hi, I new to this site. I had a phone call last Friday( 19th March) to arrange a appointment for a call about job search / commitment by a work coach for Saturday morning( 20th March) at 9.20 a.m. Waited near the phone from 9.a.m, no phone call, in fact no calls all day. So tried calling them Monday morning, but just getting automated response saying offices are closed and if they need to speak to you they will call. I've not heard from them since last March. How do you get in touch if it's something important. I'm on J.S.A , so no online journal. Bit worried now in case they say I'm not responding to calls.

Re: Phone appointment.
New here and i am in a similar situation as i am getting a call tomorrow. I was contacted by letter.
On the letter they have not put the local job centre phone number on but they have left the 08001690310.
The letter goes on to say you have 5 working days from the date of the phone call to get in touch. else they will close your claim.

Managed to speak to D.W.P. He said they had tried to call that day, but I said I had no calls from anyone that day. Anyway he is going to make a note that I called them and send a message to get them to call me.

Re: Phone appointment.
The work roaches are working from home at the moment and may only be back in the office on the 12th april. Phone appointments are a doddle and if your lucky you will only get a call ever 6 weeks or even let you go digital only.

Re: Phone appointment.
So sorted phone appointment for next Wednesday to re-engage, then call every two weeks. If it's anything like signing on in person, won't take long. When I have gone to the J.C. , its sign here see you in two weeks, don't even check job search.

Re: Phone appointment.
That's how it began for me, then appointments got longer. Should be ok while covid is still around. There will be many not feeling safe having to go visit those hell holes. Never mind them giving 2 squirts of soap on doors. No doubt their idea of, covid-19 compliant

Re: Phone appointment.
They also have another real nasty habit.
"We will call you at x time on x day ".The call dosent happen cos they never made it. Just like to keep you hanging on all day.
Next, out comes letter with. WE CALLED YOU ON X BUT YOU FAILED TO ANSWER.
I said really! Would you like me to check with phone provider or...yours
Be ready for fun and games as the phone route sound's much easier than face to face. They can when it suits them turn it into a nightmare

Make sure they send you a copy of the claimant commitment. Aka. A tool to sanction people with. If your not familiar why that CC is important do a Google search.

Re: Phone appointment.
Heard today, that face to face WCA restarting 12th April so imagine, won't be long before roach shop drag us all back into their naturally all covid-19 compliant offices for some more 'specialist' help.
Anyone know how they feel about sitting in roach shop or WHP all masked up if they wear glasses. Should get real interesting come summer with all their state of the art air conditioned offices.

Re: Phone appointment.
I wear glasses and they steam up when I'm wearing a mask. I've done my best to solve this problem to no avail. I have to keep taking my glasses off to clear the lenses with a tissue. The only place I go is to the local supermarket and I spend very little time inside. In, out, mask off as soon as I can due to not being able to see or to breathe properly. I've told one JCP work coach about this issue, but she didn't address it as at the time there was no sign of any face to face meeting coming up. They will have to address it as some point though as my not being able to see without my glasses is a disability.

Re: Phone appointment.
I thought it would be a major problem for many and I'm no rocket scientist and yet the planks implementing these clever ideas on big salaries.Another great idea from them:Face-to-face assessments to resume for health and disability benefits from 12th April and others from May 2021
All highly logical of course . There will be problems with this way of their thinking...again!
Anyone who has anxiety issues not being able to see out of their glasses while being asked to fill things in on a screen taking more than 10 minutes, will be impacted by this idea of ''all is now well, back to normal, its face to face time at roach ville''.
Roach shops won't address the issue cos they know, it shouldn't have been put in place. Covid-19 still rages and as such; morons should be doing the phone route. That is common sense. The rocket scientist who came up with the all systems go needs to seek further help. Maybe a provider company could help them.Think harder... for longer
Absolut"not being able to see without my glasses is a disability''. Good point, and I'd have them fully steamed up; like you've been in a sauna.... purposely .One day these clowns will learn. Not to keep pushing people ultimately, just for the sake of it.
