https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/local-news/how-ronan-stepped-ensure-jobcentre-4186344A self-employed site manager who was left unable to do his job during the coronavirus lockdown has taken on a new role enabling Jobcentre employees to work safely.
Ronan O'Brien, who works through the Hays Construction and Property agency, has been supporting the Scunthorpe Jobcentre Plus office by cleaning and sanitising touch points.
His efforts are helping to protect staff who are doing vital work to help financially support people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ronan, 53, took the role after receiving a call from Hannah Shaw at Hays around two weeks after he had to stop working following the Government guidance introduced at the start of the lockdown.
He was asked if he would be interested in doing something different and becoming a key worker and after the position at the Jobcentre was explained to him, he did not hesitate in accepting it.
