that work search requirements for claimants of universal credit or new style JSA are not imposed for a period of 3 months, and that any existing work search requirement no longer applies so that the requirement to be 'able and willing immediately to take up paid work' no longer applies
It runs until 30 June. There has been no extension, yet.

The part of the pilot which has been tested will be rolled out in the first 184 sites from Thursday, 21 May.
The object is to have a 2 metre bubble at all times around a person.
There have been rumours that this is being done in order to open are (sic) offices quickly, we have been assured that this is not the case and that when the time comes in the future to look at opening our offices there will be full consultation.

Thanks for the posting @Absolut.
Not to sure how this 2x meter bubble would work thou? From the pcs.org link all it seems to mention is the JCP staff, and little about the punters. The only positive about this would be that the work-roach won't have there wing man/woman sitting next to them. As I have noticed in my JCP there is a 'buddy' system going on when people attended there appointments.
Also you have to wonder will the 3 nations(Eng, Sct, Wls) JCP all open at the same time, as well as individual JCP in each county.

Thank you very much Absolut. I would appreciate a link to show the 3 month ends on 30 June . I have extensively searched for the information you have provided, to no avail. Where do they hide the good stuff.Absolut wrote:that work search requirements for claimants of universal credit or new style JSA are not imposed for a period of 3 months, and that any existing work search requirement no longer applies so that the requirement to be 'able and willing immediately to take up paid work' no longer applies

Will claimants still have to attend face-to-face meetings?
The Budget announced measures to suspend face-to-face meetings at the Jobcentre for new UC claimants for those advised to self-isolate. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) now goes further, advising that all new claim interviews will take place by telephone.
Many benefit claimants usually have regular meetings in Jobcentres. But on 19 March, the DWP announced that anyone receiving benefits would not have to attend Jobcentre appointments for at least three months.
The DWP now advise: “You should not attend the jobcentre unless directed to do so for an exceptional purpose."

Thank you very much Absolut. I would appreciate a link to show the 3 month ends on 30 June . I have extensively searched for the information you have provided, to no avail. Where do they hide the good stuff.

This regulation applies for a period of 3 months beginning with the date that these Regulations come into force and the Secretary of State may extend that period for all cases or any class of case where it appears expedient as a consequence of the continuation of the outbreak of coronavirus disease.
It's from the legislation that Frank Zola originally linked to. It came into force on 30 March and runs for 3 months, hence 30 June being the end date.
