UC confusion - looks like claim was closed
I did a temp' job at the end of February and I was paid by the employer in the next assessment period (March). My UC statement reflected my earnings. I was due zero UC in March and I did not receive any UC, so all looked on track with no problems. The job ended in the March assessment period and I completed a change of circumstances (job ended) declaration in the UCj immediately. I thought all was OK.
Now in my April assessment period and I just checked my UCj. To my horror, my claim has been closed . I understand I earned above the Nil UC threshold in the March assessment period but it was not enough to attract any surplus earnings calculation.
I presumed that completing the change of circumstances when the job ended would mean the claim would continue. I wonder now whether I needed to have completed that change of circumstances in the next assessment period (after the latest statement was made available) instead at the time the change occurred.
I have no idea whether I will receive anything for the April assessment period even though the job ended / the employer paid / I declared change of circumstances / printed zero UC statement from UCj all within the March assessment period.
I have not worked in the current (April) assessment period nor am I due any wages (all wages were paid in full in the March assessment period). My current UC statement will fall due shortly so I will not know if any UC payment has been awarded until that shows on the UCj.
I have submitted an online complaint to ask for an explanation of why the claim was closed after I stopped working.
Timeline
1) started a job in the February assessment period and declared this as a change of circumstances
2) the job ended in the March assessment period and I received payment from the employer. I declared a change of circumstances in UCj.
2) UC statement showing calculation as nil UC due to earnings above nil UC threshold in that period. No problem with that - totally expected.
3) the claim closed sometime but no notification was ever received via email/letter so it is not clear what date and for what reason
4) Looked at UCj and saw that claim was closed so made a new claim citing the date that the employment ended.

Not sure actually, as I declared the job started and that it ended. I was not on a ZHC it was fixed hours/week and I never told DWP it was an agency.

Update: Not sure what happened but it is all sorted out now.
The correct and up to date payment is now showing.
All credit to them for sorting it out so quickly under the circumstances.
