Culture of Contempt - DWP Decision Makers

Having read the document, it appears that the DWP worker is even trying to suggest that only able bodied people can operate vehicles safely!!!

The Department for Work and Pensions has been criticised after one of its officials apparently submitted papers to a benefits appeal tribunal in which they called a disabled claimant a “lying bitch”.

The submission, formally rejecting an appeal by a disabled woman against the removal or downgrading of her personal independence payment (PIP) award, was made public by her outraged advice worker.

DWP to restore benefits of disabled woman it called 'lying bitch'.

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has offered to restore the full benefits of a claimant whom it called a “lying bitch” in legal papers after she appealed against a decision to strip her of some of her disability entitlements.

I am pleased the lady has had her benefit restored and she will also receive a consolatory payment.

I wonder what has happened to the disgracefull Decision Maker?

Woman forced to appeal against incorrect PIP decisions three times in five years.

A woman called a “lying bitch” in official tribunal papers by welfare officials has criticised her “disgusting” treatment at the hands of the Department for Work and Pensions.

The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, appealed against the removal of part of her disability benefits. This week she was awarded a “consolatory” payment of £250 by the DWP, in recognition of the humiliation and distress to which she had been subjected. The department has also offered to restore her benefits.

However, the woman told the Guardian the payment could not make up for what she called constant mistreatment by the DWP. It was the third time in five years she has been forced to go to appeal to overturn incorrect decisions relating to her entitlement to personal independence payments, a disability benefit.

It is my opinion that those who challenge DWP find themselves singled out for further DWP abuse. It is (almost) as if DWP staff think that claimants are undeserving and /or need to be humiliated.
