i suspect this is how they get the id cars system up for everyone in the uk as well

EU nationals will have to apply for identity cards to prove they have “settled status” after Brexit in order to live and work in the UK legally, it has been revealed. Thousands of EU citizens who have already filled out an 85-page Home Office form and paid a fee to get confirmation of their legal status in the UK will have to re-apply. wrote:
