waiting time has increased for vital disability benefits
People are waiting around three months from first registering to find out if they have been given Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Re: waiting time has increased for vital disability benefits
I applied for PIP in January and was sent a letter in April demanding that I attend an assessment centre over 2 hours away by public transport. I told them I had no intention of attending. I was asked if I wanted a second appointment. I said no. I was then told my "case" would be referred back to the DWP for closure. I said fine. I wasn't ever asked why I failed to attend by the DWP and I still have no official letter ending my claim for PIP 2 months later. From the report it appears that I won't get that letter until October.
