Founded as an idea initially in 2012 The [European] Association of Pension & Benefits Claimants CIC and the sub- Association of Hourly-paid & Part-time Workers (ABC) came into being officially in 2014. The main aim was to give those receiving state pensions and state benefits formal representation, and create schemes to enable those on benefits to manage their circumstances better and where appropriate, to move back into work or education.
Our members are not only those on state pensions and state benefits, but also those in work or self-employment who want to see that their National Insurance Contributions are spent productively, and that should their own circumstances change - that the money that they have invested in this mandatory scheme is available to act as safety-net and where the scheme they have funded over the years - an adequate basic state pension - is provided later in life.
