NHS employs debt-collectors over 'health tourism'

Post by Admin on Sat Nov 11, 2017 7:00 am

Hospitals across England are using debt-collectors and, in some cases, bailiffs to chase outstanding bills owed by migrant users of the NHS.

Of 111 hospitals that responded to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, more than half confirmed that they currently use debt collectors or had done in the past.

It reminds me of those local authorities that fine rough-sleepers.
Taking blood out of a stone.
Economic migrants, our oppressed brothers, certainly do not have the resources to pay for it and profiteers, if they exist, will certainly not come here, to find solution to their medical problems with an institution that is cracking at the seams.
There are much better, and I stress "much", health services elsewhere in Europe.
Only the poor and those that cannot otherwise help it are left to struggle with a service that is less and less supported and even less funded.
