I notice we have a lot of news stories about the NHS / nurses etc.,. I am just wondering if we might benefit from another category to be added to 'Daily impact' as a place to move these stories to.

The new category could be called 'health', or it could be called 'public services' and include all public services such as libraries, social services etc.,.

Any thoughts Question

Thanks Admin'.

I would like the new category to be called 'PUBLIC SERVICS'.

I think it should go in 'daily impact'.

Cheers

I was wondering when the "Health & Work"Program is full rolled out Suspect . Will it gets its own Folder on the forum, or will the "PROGRAMMES, SCHEMES & COURSES" be modified???

I reckon if there are a lot of threads about it, that will definitely justify a separate folder within PROGRAMMES, SCHEMES & COURSES. At the moment there are just 2 threads about it, but I expect more when it has been rolled out a while. Smile

We have a lot of stories about food banks and other types of social impact / poverty.

I just wondered if we should have a category for SOCIAL IMPACT in 'daily impact'.

Thoughts Question

You are right that food banks are a 'public service' but where they are different is that they are provided by a charity and not administered out of the public purse. That is why they are a special case.

Other 'social impact' stories are the ones where people change their behaviour as a result of a government policy e.g. limiting the number of children they have as a result of the 2 child limit.

Another 'social impact' story might include the rise in suicides associated with benefit issues.

These are the types of stories I was thinking of for a 'social impact' category, where they can be collected together and found easily in the future.

(I have got my librarian hat on lol! ).
