Re: site emoticons to be added on the forums
I feel this thread is going to go on over the site limit for content at this rate :whipgirl:
I don't mind which ones we keep as long as all the 'emojis' are Kosher .....

I agree. Also, we do not need a dominatrix or anything like that. It is not that sort of site. Let's keep it professional

....Yes, a yellow card is a great idea.
Changing the subject, the whole point of emoticons is to help to represent the sort of non-verbal communication that is normally only available in face to face conversation.
I think some of our new emoticons are more like cartoons. Some of them are nothing to do with the type of topics that this site was set up in order to discuss (mainly welfare and topics related to welfare and economic inequality).
I like a bit of fun as much as anyone else and I am no prude, but this site is for people looking for help with welfare related issues. On that note, I think we need to give careful consideration to the image that the site portrays to people discovering it for the first time. We want to provide a welcoming space where people feel confident about the help they will find here.
To put it more bluntly, would you have confidence in your GP (or other professional) if you glimpsed sex toys when you visited for an appointment?
