Millions of workers will have to work an extra year before retiring after the Government announced plans to extend the retirement age to 68. The state pension age had been due to rise by a year – from the current age of 67 – in 2044. But David Gauke, the Work and Pensions Secretary, said the cash-saving move would be implemented from 2037, seven years earlier than planned. wrote:

The Government has been accused of "picking the pockets" of millions of people in their forties after announcing that anyone born between 1970 and 1978 will have to wait for an extra year before receiving their state pension.
The state pension age for men and women will rise from 67 to 68 between 2037 and 2039, seven years earlier than previously planned, in a move designed to save £74 billion by 2045/46, Work and Pensions Secretary David Gauke told the House of Commons.
Mr Gauke said that increases in life expectancy meant that those affected could still expect to receive more over their lifetimes than earlier generations. wrote:

I'm in the age group this affects.
No doubt the age will be raised again in a few years time. Constant change, constant crisis for us - the masses.

I think the trouble is people are living too long in this country ? And so they are keep moving the retirement age up and up! I would hate to think of a person doing a physically demanding job being at 67x yrs old before they retire? Could you image a copper/firefighter/scaffolder being of much usage at that age? Seem the powers that be want to work people to death, but pay into utopian pension fund .

The only people living too long in this and all other countries are the uber wealthy fascists/fat controllers. Although a part of me feels that all humans should live a long, joyful, fruitful, prosperous life.

The point is that they have not enough money to cover a decent pension program, so they shifting the age up and up. Hoping, with foundations, that the poorer the recipients are the less likely they will arrive and even less enjoy, any form or retirement.
The people more connected with the elites will have enough to arrange to private pensions and retire earlier and earlier.
The shortage of finances is not real but simply due to successful pressure on state policies from those that can profit from lower taxes and from the the little fear that "the masses" projects on these elites.
