Is DWP allowed to be prescriptive about how often to record job search activity?
Just thinking out load really, and trying to pre-empt anything that might be included in a CC.
Is there any regulation about how often (perhaps daily) that a claimant can be expected to record job search activity in their UC journal?
I am concerned that the WC will try to sneak in the 'I will record in my journal daily'. I don't want to fall into that trap if it is not an enforceable requirement.
Thanks in advance, for any information.

The law only requires that you look/prepare for work on a weekly basis for a specified number of hours relevant to your circumstances. You can decide how you organise your work search. FOI requests verify you can also provide evidence of work related activities in a format of your choice.
Edit: lastest FOI:
Providing Work Related Evidence Regulations provide flexibility in regards to how claimants can provide evidence of meeting their work related requirements. Alternative options include providing evidence face to face via clerical records or through telephony channels.
J3052 When deciding if the work search “all reasonable action” requirement has been met, DMs should have regard to the
1. time spent by the claimant searching for work and
2. quality of the claimant’s work search including the range of actions that they have taken (for example, contacting employers, registering with employment agencies, investigating self-employment opportunities etc).
