from a business point of view with cv's and spam

Post by Admin on Fri Jun 02, 2017 8:18 pm

Really to anyone who runs their own company or is freelance.
I have been noticing over the last week or so that job applications are coming in with the cv's containing hack software - probably ransomware.
So really to anyone running their own business make sure that any computers that deal with such data are fully up to date on windows patches and running decent anti-virus/email scanning software. It's no surprise that the scum is doing this, the invoice scam has been going on for a years now. wrote:

and another as i asked for further info

Typically for example a graduate sends CV's out for possible jobs or internship for a year, pretty common. Obviously in the scam the document is loaded with ransomware. I'm running decent enough anti-virus and keep my computer up to date on patches so it won't let me open the attachments on the scam mails - just says it's infected. Only seen it on graduate emails at the moment no reason why the scammers aren't looking at jobs advertised by companies as well. wrote:

from another source

I'm quite used to seeing scam/infected emails with invoices attached, or legal threats, sometimes using genuine company details.
For the first time yesterday I got a CV sent. Deleted it as it was fairly obvious it was junk, but as a business it would be so easy just to click and open it.
I'd love to break the fingers of these jockeys who sit there sending spam/scam emails out. We've got some fairly powerful spam catcher software but still get 15-20 a day through. wrote:

Clearly it's back to sending CVs by snail mail if the DWP insists that a claimant sends out any speculative CVs to any companies.

If a roach told me to send spec CVs, I would use email but then tell the roach that spec' CVs are treated as spam geek

I am not convinced that paper CVs don't end up in the circular file, more often than not.
