Evidence
21444 DMs can obtain medical evidence if they do not have enough evidence to decide if the restrictions are reasonable because of the claimant's physical or mental condition.
21445 DMs may obtain evidence from the claimants GP if they have the claimants permission. But as claimants may have to pay for their GP to give a statement, this should be considered only if sufficient evidence cannot be obtained from other sources.

So:
DMs may obtain evidence from the claimants GP if they have the claimants permission.

And what happens if the claimant does not give permission? Presumably no medical evidence, no medical restrictions allowed?

and :
But as claimants may have to pay for their GP to give a statement, this should be considered only if sufficient evidence cannot be obtained from other sources

Is there anything in the legislation that says the Jobcentre must pay the fee for medical evidence if the claimant cannot afford it? I can't find anything.

My aim. of course, is to
  1. Prevent them from getting any info from my GP if at all possible, while retaining my restrictions
  2. If not possible then make sure they pay the fee for the Doctor's letter.
