FOI request 'Proof that time senstive correspondence was dispatched correctly'

John Slater wrote:The DWP and contractors such as CHDA, Atos and Capita rely heavily on time sensitive correspondence being delivered by post. It is reasonable to assume that both the DWP and its contractors have measures in place to record that such correspondence was dispatched correctly. Therefore please disclose the following information:

In respect of the DWP only
What records/data does the DWP generate and retain to be able to prove that correspondence:
Q1: has been printed?
Q2: has been properly addressed?
Q3: has been posted?

In respect of CHDA, Atos and Capita only
What records/data do these three contractors generate and retain to be able to prove that correspondence:
Q4: has been printed?
Q5: has been properly addressed?
Q6: has been posted?

Also @Caker do you know the DWP position on electronic mail as proof of communication. As it seems with the Universal Credit claimants can be corresponded with the JCP/work Roach via the UC electronic journal. And we all know how easy it is to delete and email, where as pen and paper take a little longer.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/432631/response/1046626/attach/html/2/FoI%203870%20reply.pdf.html

"These sources state that claimants can use the Universal Credit journal to record their work search or other things they’ve done to improve their circumstances, and they can use the journal to communicate with, or interact with their work coach. However, none of them actually state claimants must use the Universal Credit journal to record their work search or communicate with their work coach.  "

Also with these emails you could take a screen print of the message with ‘time and date’ on it from the provider. However, we all know what the dwp is like and they will not believe anyone if they can help it.
