Tory MP claims that British people ‘have thousands in their pockets
On 23 November, a Conservatives MP Rebecca Pow claimed [0.06] that British people have “thousands more in their pockets”. In the Commons, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell delivered a swift reality check.
The people in Taunton Deane speak to me and they’ve actually got more money in their pockets, which is what they want. We… have put up the National Living Wage, we have cut income tax by raising the personal allowance and again we have frozen fuel duty. So people have actually got thousands more in their pockets than they had under the Labour government.

Re: Tory MP claims that British people ‘have thousands in their pockets
It is my contention that these people (if an hard line Tory can be classified as such) really believe their own propaganda.
They think there are more jobs than unemployed and therefore all they need is kick in their backside to "motivate" them.
That everybody, like certainly themselves, has some funds stashed away regardless of what poverty one may plead.
That nearly all disables are faking it because they would otherwise would pick up private health insurance and that society in general is going well because they did well.
Refusing to see beyond their environment they malign anyone challenging their views.
